Mrs. Connie Demerson was elected to the Board of Trustees to serve Area 3 in May 2004. She is a retired certified nursing assistant, who was employed twenty-seven years with the Temple Veterans Association, retiring in 1994. Mrs. Demerson is a 1955 graduate of West Belton Harris High School and also attended college at Prairie View A&M.

She and her husband have four children, Brian, Marion, Deidra, and Robyn, fourteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Three of her children and one grandchild have graduated from Belton High School.

Mrs. Demerson served on the BISD Long-range Facilities Planning Committee that researched and presented the components of the District's bond package approved in February 2004. In regard to her service on the Board, Mrs. Demerson said, "I have the interest of Belton ISD at heart. If we keep qualified teachers in the system, then we can ensure every child is indeed a winner."
