Our Students

Belton Independent School District currently serves approximately 9500 students at thirteen campuses in Belton, Texas. The District's ethnic distribution is 61% White, 28% Hispanic, 8% African-American, 2% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 1% Native American. Our Schools

The District's boundaries cover approximately 200 square miles in Bell County. Students attend eight elementary schools, three middle schools, one traditional high school and one New Tech high school. Our Ratings

For 2011, Belton ISD was rated Academically Acceptable by the Texas Education Agency based on students' performance on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. Click here for more information on BISD's Accountability Ratings.

Our Leadership

The District is led by a Board of Trustees elected by the community and led by Mr. Randy Pittenger, Board of Trustees President, and by Dr. Susan Kincannon, Superintendent of Schools. Other members of the Administrative Team are: Darrell Becker, Deputy Superintendent, Eric Haugeberg, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations,  Ed Braeuer, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Todd Schiller, Director of Human Resources; and Eric Banfield, Business Manager. Our Parents

Parent involvement is an important part of student educational success. Belton ISD's parent involvement program strives to provide opportunities for parents and guardians to be an integral part of their child's education. Informational meetings, parent workshops, parent/teacher conferences, advisory committees, parent surveys, and a variety of school activities are some way that parents can participate and contribute input into their child's education. Our Community

Belton's close-knit community provides support for the school district and our students. Businesses and individuals work closely with Belton ISD through the Adopt-A-School Program, with over 200 partners contributing over $125,000 in time, resources, and funds. The Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation provided over $60,000 in scholarships in 2011, and over $30,000 in teacher and paraprofessional grants for classroom enrichment in December of 2010.

Our Budget

Belton ISD's per pupil expenditure is $7,071. The District's budget for the 2011-2012 school year is $67,535,084 with a total property tax rate of $1.4060 per $100 valuation.
