Do you want to know how to help your child find safe, educational games? Have you ever wondered where you can send your student for safe, reliable information on the Internet? Have you ever needed the zip code or the time zone for someone and couldn't find it? What about online medical information for your family? Belton ISD owns subscriptions for some of the best online resources available today. Come learn how to help your student stay safe while using the Internet and find great sources of information for your use too. Registration required by September 11. Space is limited. If you long to take care of your banking, bills and/or shopping online but don't know where to start, this is the class for you. We will cover safe and secure Internet shopping and banking as well as saving favorites, website validation and advanced searching. (1 session)

BEGINNING MICROSOFT WORD

Create any kind of documents you need using Word. From holiday newsletters to lists and letters, this class covers it all. The basics of formatting, using clipart and other graphics, cutting and pasting will be covered. Participants will also learn to save documents and organize files. (1 session)

BEGINNING EXCEL SPREADSHEET

Learn to organize data easily in Excel. We will focus on beginner skills including entering data, editing existing spreadsheets, performing simple calculations, searching for information in the data, and creating charts. Once you understand the basics, there is no stopping you in your quest for organization! (1 session)

PHOTOSTORY

Bring life to photographs with PhotoStory! In this class, you'll learn some basic digital camera tips. You'll learn to create movies from digital photos, add special effects, soundtracks, and voice narration, and personalize photo stories with titles and captions. Learn how to save a PhotoStory into a movie format to play back on the web or computer. (Feel free to bring your camera and USB cable to download your digital pictures or bring them on a CD or memory stick if you prefer to work with your own images.) (1 session)

CREATING BOOKS ONLINE: FUN WITH YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOS

Ever wonder how you can preserve your photos and present them in original and beautiful ways? Create your own books with your digital pictures. Bring your pictures (on CD, a memory stick or in the camera IF you have your USB cable to download the pictures) and learn how to make gifts and keepsakes with free* software. *There is a purchase and shipping cost if you choose to buy the items you create. (1 session)

TUSCANY FAUX WALLS & MORE

This beautiful glazing technique is easy and quick to apply and can be used on walls and furniture. You'll learn to paint realistic stone for borders. Also, you will be shown how to paint a beautiful One-Stroke technique grapevine border. (3 sessions)

COUNTRY SWING

Learn steps so that you can fit in and start dancing right away. You'll learn how to do the Two-Step, Cotton-Eyed Joe, Waltz, Schottische, the Double Two-Step, Polka, a line dance and the Swing. You'll have a complete workout and enjoy the fun and excitement of a foot-stomping, good old time. Get on your feet and come join the fun! (4 sessions)

TEXAS NATIVE GARDENING

Learn the basics about soil preparation, trees, shrubs, ground cover, annuals, perennials and lawn grasses for Central Texas. You can discover the right landscape design using hearty but beautiful native and adaptive plans for our area. Simple design principles will be introduced. (4 sessions)

SIGNING BASIC/INTERMEDIATE

This class will teach basic hand signs, alphabet, colors, family and general conversations. You will learn and increase your vocabulary of commonly-used words and be able to put sentences together enabling the signer to communicate in everyday use. Required book-cost payable to instructor. (10 sessions)

ZUMBA AEROBICS

"Ditch the workout, join the party!" Great Latin music and Zumba fitness for the old and young active adult and beginners. Celebrate life and have fun Latin dancing at all speeds. Wear comfortable clothes & tennis shoes. (16 sessions)

CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH

This is a beginning Spanish class. We will cover basic vocabulary, common nouns and some verbs. This class is interactive, fun, engaging, uses adult learning theory and allows time for practice. This is not an intensive memorization or verb conjugation course. The purpose is to increase your ability to converse in Spanish.(10 sessions)

HEARTSAVER CPR & AED

Learn CPR for adults, children and infants. AED (Automated External Debfibrillator) introduction and use on adults and children. You will be issued a Heartsaver CPR and AED card. There is no written test. (1 session)

Turn the walls or countertops of that old outdated bathroom or kitchen into a beautiful maintenance-free surface in one weekend's time. The instructor will use hands-on demonstrations to teach you how to professionally estimate project costs, prepare the surface, cut ceramic tile, lay, glue, grout, and seal to complete your project. DANCING WITH PIZZAZ!

Learn some new moves and surprise your family and friends at your next social event. This class is guaranteed to put you on the dance floor and get your feet moving! So put on your dancing shoes and learn the Fox Trot, Waltz, Cha Cha and the Tango. Come join the fun! (4 sessions)

FLOWERS QUICK & EASY

You will learn to paint roses, rosebuds, hydrangeas, daisies, sunflowers, wildflowers, small filler flowers and leaves by a local Certified Decorative Art Instructor with years of teaching experience. This workshop will include 4 hours of instruction in a relaxed classroom environment and all supplies will be provided for use in the class. A painting kit of quality brushes, paint and a project instruction sheet to take home will be available for the cost of $18.00. (2 sessions)

CREATE YOUR OWN WREATH

Let Bobbye and Linda, owner and designer of a local florist, help you design your own Christmas wreath. Come and explore the creative ideas with the instructors who share over 50 years of experience. Decorating supplies for one wreath will be provided. You will need to bring one 24 inch green wreath. (1 session)

TAE KWON DO

Master Instructor, Bill Smith, provides fun, challenging, and exciting classes.  Kids learn self-respect and self-confidence.  Adults improve cardiocascular conditioning, flexibility, and self-defense skills.  Instructors are certified Black Belts from the World Tae Kwon Do Federation.  Additional fee for students wishing to receive test administration for increased belt level (cost to include belt).  Karate uniform available for purchase but not mandatory.  Parents are always welcome to watch!

CHEERLEADING

Come join the spirit of cheerleading. Learn jumps, arm motions, conditioning drills, cheers and chants. This is a non-competitive camp and would be great for anyone interested in learning cheerleading skills. (4 sessions)
