Vision & Mission

The Vision of the Belton Independent School Districts School Health Advisory Council is “Healthy Schools, Healthy Kids”.

 The Mission of the Belton Independent School Districts School Health Advisory council is “To advocate for high quality comprehensive school health programs for all students”.

 The Goal of the Belton Independent School Districts School Health Advisory Council is “To provide a safe and nurturing learning environment whereby all students gain a sense of self-worth and develop and maintain lifelong healthy behaviors”.

 To achieve the goal, the School Health Advisory Council will engage in ongoing review, discussion and recommendations for comprehensive school health education programs to include:

  • Promoting quality health education programs
  • Modeling and encouraging the achievement of lifelong physical fitness
  • Enhancing school health services
  • Encouraging and providing healthful nutrition
  • Supporting social and emotional well-being
  • Creating safe and positive learning environments
  • Promoting faculty and staff wellness
  • Encouraging school, family and community involvement

District Policies

  1. To ensure that elementary school, middle school, and junior high school students engage in physical activity; See also Policy FFA (Local).
  2. To ensure compliance with applicable vending machine and food service guidelines for restricting student access to vending machines.  See also Policy CO (Legal) and Policy FFA (Local).
  3. District policies and procedures that prescribe penalties for the use of tobacco products by students and others on school campuses or at school-sponsored or school-related activites; Also see Student Code of Conduct.
  4. Beginning with the 07-08 school year, parents may request in writing their child's physical fitness assessment results at the end of the school year.
