Purchasing
The main focus of BISD's Purchasing and Supply Services is to facilitate the acquisition of goods & services in order to meet the needs of schools and departments; and to comply with numerous statutes, policies, legal interpretations and procedures.
Our goal is to educate staff members primarily responsible at the campus and department levels for purchasing so that they can make most purchases directly or through the district warehouse. We strive to give purchasers the confidence and support they need to be successful. We feel that by placing the majority of the decision-making power in the hands of principals and directors, we encourage the control of expenditures and get the most value of the dollars available. In some cases we do require standardization of basic items such as furniture, business machines & audiovisual equipment, in order to reduce maintenance, secure quality pricing and insure uniform services.
