Belton High School Marching 100

Dan Suniga

Dan Suniga, an Assistant Director of Bands at Belton High School, is the conductor of the 3rd Concert Band and the Director of the Jazz Ensemble. Dan is a brass specialist and an accomplished trumpet player with performances at the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City. In addition, he has performed in numerous Mariachi, Salsa and Jazz Ensembles. He also has performed in many opera orchestras and musicals throughout the state.

He is currently the trumpet instructor for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Conservatory where his trumpet studio is in its seventh year.

Dan received his degree in Music Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and is All-Level certified by the state of Texas. During his tenure at UMHB he was the principal trumpet player for the Wind Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Brass Quintet. In addition, he was Section Leader and Band Captain for the Crusader Marching Band.

Dan is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, International Association of Jazz Educators, and the International Trumpet Guild.
