Belton High School Marching 100

Ron Davis

Ron Davis is currently in his 2nd year as the Director of Bands at Belton High School. Previously, Mr. Davis was the Director of Bands for Marble Falls High School for 18 years, Robert E. Lee Freshman School in Midland for 7 years and Assistant Director at Cooper High School in Abilene for 1 year. Mr. Davis received his Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone performance and his Master of Arts in Music Education from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.  He is a graduate of Odessa High School where he was a member of the All-State Band and made the decision to become a professional musician and educator.

 Mr. Davis’ bands have performed in concert as Outstanding Bands at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York City on two occasions, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Mr. Davis has performed as a saxophone soloist with the Amarillo Symphony, Midland/Odessa Symphony, West Texas State University Wind Ensemble, Odessa High School Band and other groups. He is a sought after judge and clinician throughout the southwest and is a 16 time recipient of the Who’s Who Among High School Teachers award and was recognized by the Texas Legislature in 1993 as an Outstanding Teacher. He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.

 Mr. Davis has been married for 28 years to Melynda Davis who is a clarinet player and a 5th grade elementary teacher at Marble Falls Elementary. They have two children; Adam Davis, who plays trombone and is in his first year as assistant director of bands at Belton Middle School and Krysta Davis, who plays French horn and is a music therapy major at West Texas A&M University in Canyon.
