Photo GalleryFreshman FocusFreshman Focus was held at Belton High School on August 17th. The theme this year was “The Apprentice”. Everyone had a great time meeting our own Donald Trump, getting great advice from our seniors, and getting acquainted with the school. Each freshman was placed in a team for the day, and those teams competed throughout the day for “Tiger Bucks”. Our winning team was Team Justice – Congratulations!
ConvocationThe district convocation was held Thursday, August 23, at Belton High School. Some of the high school students were recognized for the tiger traits that they possess and others were present such as Madrigal, Marching 100, Magic Belles, Yell Leader and Tigo. Spirit ChainCommunities In Schools is proud to sponsor the United Way Spirit Chain fundraiser here at Belton High. This year will conclude our sixth successful campaign here at Belton High School. The Spirit Chain was created to raise money and awareness in our schools about different agencies in our community that help people in need! Spirit chain gave our students the chance to give back to a community that has given to us so graciously! All monies raised will benefit Communities in Schools of Belton ISD (CIS services six campuses in BISD), Helping Hands Ministry, Belton Christian Youth Center and Belton Senior Center. As you can see, Belton High Schools money is going to some great causes! School SpiritThe school year has finally begun at Belton High School but hitting the books and studying for tests are not the only things the students of Belton High are interested in. As we know, Belton is all about school spirit. Hence, “Big Red ‘Nuff Said!” Our football team has a great 2 and 1 record so far, and our varsity volleyball girls ruled the court Tuesday night by defeating our biggest rival, Temple, three games out of five. Our Magic Belles, our cheerleaders, and our Marching 100 just scream school spirit at our games and pep rallies. Also, our newly acquired group known as the “Zone” keeps the school spirit alive all year. It looks to be a very promising and exciting year at Belton High both sports wise and spirit wise! -A. Galinsky, sophomore
College NightStudents from all over Texas got a glimpse into their future by attending College Night, Monday, October 10, at Belton High School. Representatives from colleges in Texas and surrounding states came to talk about their schools and their academic programs. Students learned what they needed to know about the application process of the colleges of their choice and about the financial aid programs available to them. College night is a fun night that not only tells students about college, but helps the students to start preparing for college. -A. Galinsky, sophomore
Choir ConcertThe choir put their voices to the test at their concert Tuesday, October 16, in the Performing Arts Center. The BHS choirs, led by Craig Pitrucha and Rebecca Northen, gave us a taste of their wonderful voices and talent as they sang a variety of songs. In a joint effort, BHS’ Harmony and Temple’s Encore performed “Ramalama” which they will perform at Temple’s Pumpkin Palooza. -A. Galinsky, sophomore
Food RallyStudents gobbled their way down the aisles of Belton’s HEB in the FFA’s annual food drive rally, Thursday morning. Team members from 22 teams raced through the store to fill their baskets with items that were donated to the Helping Hands Ministry or the Belton Church of Christ.
