Theatre I

This is a survey of theatre in which students will study improvisation,
movement, play analysis, techniques of acting styles, theatre history, play performance and production. Students will participate in a public performance.
Production I
THEATRE PRODUCTION I 28411

Prerequisite: Theatre Arts I & teacher approval
Credit: 1
This course is designed for advanced students. Students
who take this course will be required to attend tournaments,
workshops, and contests. Students will work on a one-act
play, speech, prose and poetry. Students will be assigned
positions on costume, make-up, set, publicity, or light and
sound crews. Students will also participate in a performance
directed by a Theatre IV student, to be performed for the
public either at BHS or at another place such as a local hospital,
retirement home or lower level school.
Production II

Prerequisite: Theatre Production I & teacher approval
Credit: 1
This course is the same as Production I, but with increasing
responsibility levels, including advanced lighting, and sound
techniques.
Production II (Children's Theatre)
THEATRE PROD. II (Children’s Theatre) 18412

Prerequisite: Theatre Arts I & teacher approval Credit: .5
This is a course of theory and technique in the selection and
production of plays for child audiences, traditional plays,
audience participation plays, creative drama, improvisations,
and puppet theatre. Students will form a touring Children’s
Theatre company and tour local elementary schools.
This course is only offered during the fall semester.
Production III

Prerequisite: Theatre Production I, II and teacher approval
Credit: 1
This course is the same as Production I and II but with increasing
responsibilities, such as designing for theater and
stage management.
Production III (One Act Play)
THEATRE PROD III (One-Act Play) 18413
Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 Semesters 1
Prerequisite: Theatre Arts I and Audition with Drama Teacher
Credit: .5
Admittance to this course is obtained through auditions held
during the Spring of the previous school year. This course
focuses on the planning, preparation, and rehearsal of the
One-Act Play. This course will form an acting company that
will travel and compete. It is only offered in the Spring semester.
Production IV
THEATRE PRODUCTION IV 28414
Grade Level: 11-12 Semesters 2
Prerequisite: Theatre Production I, II, III and teacher approval
Credit: 1
This course is the same as Production I, II, and III but with an
increasing responsibility level including directing the class production.
