A Note From Our Principal

Mr PeterkaWelcome to Belton Middle School.  I am excited to share a little information about our school.  We have high academic, behavioral, and extra curricular expectations for all of our students.  We want all of our students to exhibit “Tiger Pride.”  Our mission is to provide an education that challenges all of our students.  Our staff will work to ensure the district motto, “Every Kid a Winner.”

All of our students receive daily instruction in Math, Science, English / Language Arts, and Social Studies.

All 6th grade students all attend physical education classes and can choose one elective (Art, Choir, Band, Spanish, or Theatre Arts).

7th Grade students have the same options as 6th grade students except for physical education.  7th graders can take athletics or cheerleading in place of physical education.  7th graders also have a couple of additional choices for electives including Teen Leadership and Computer Literacy.

8th grade students can choose two electives.  Some of the 8th grade electives such as Art I, BCIS, Spanish I receive high school credit as long as the student is in attendance for at least 90% of the required seat time.

Our school day starts at 8:20 and ends at 3:45.  We have a school nurse on campus daily.  We have two full time counselors available to meet the needs of our students.  All of our students are bus eligible and the phone number for transportation is 215-2150.

Tutorial schedule for this year is:

Math:  Monday, Thursday, and Friday

ELA:  Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

Science: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday

History:  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Wednesday mornings are for grade level department planning and staff meetings.

We encourage all of our students to be actively involved with the school.  There are different clubs and organizations for them to join.  It is our goal that the middle school experience is a fun and positive one.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to drop by the school or call me at (254)-215-2800.
