BHS Graduation--498 students graduated from Belton High School on June 4.

Henry T. Waskow High School Graduation--48 students graduated from Waskow High School on June 2.

Teachers of the Year--Emily Williams from Lakewood Elementary and Stephen Jehl from Belton High School were named Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year at the annual Employee Banquet.

BISD Employee Banquet--Board President Randy Pittenger and his wife, LaGay, welcome BISD "stars" to the annual Employee Banquet.

BHS Senior Awards Ceremony--Scholarships were awarded and honor graduates recognized at the Senior Awards ceremony on May 28.

BHS TAKS Parade--BHS students marched around the Administration Building on May 26 to celebrate "Tackling the TAKS."

Sparta's 20th--Sparta Elementary celebrated its 20th Anniversary on May 22. Sparta opened for the 1988-1989 school year.

BHS Top Ten--Top 10 graduates were treated to a limo ride and luncheon on May 22.

Time Warner Awards--BISD teachers and the District as a whole were honored at the Time Warner Spotlight on Education Awards Dinner on May 21.

Teachers of the Year--12 campus Teachers of the Year were honored at a luncheon on May 21.

AVID Celebration--Students participating in the AVID program were honored on May 19.

Lakewood Old Glory Day--Celebrated on May 15.

Miller Heights Proud to Be an American Day--Students, BISD staff, and community celebrated on May 15.

PTA Retired Teacher Reception--Retired teachers were honored at the annual PTA Council Retired Teacher Reception on May 13.

Pre-Prom--Students celebrate at Pre-Prom on May 1.

Golden Apple Award--Christina Pehl, third grade teacher at Pirtle Elementary receives a Ch. 10 Golden Apple Award on Apr. 23.

Art Celebration--Students across BISD display artwork at the Art Celebration on Apr. 16.

Superintendent Scholars--Recognized outstanding sophomore students for their PSAT scores on Apr. 14.

Incredible Kids--Belton ISD students were recognized as Campfire USA Incredible Kids on Apr. 2.

Golden Apple Award--Karen Menzie, fifth grade science teacher at Lakewood Elementary, is congratulated by her students after receiving a Ch. 10 Golden Apple Award on Mar. 27.

Belton ISD Job Fair--Was held on Saturday, Mar. 7 at Lake Belton Middle School--Approximately 250 applicants participated. Pam Neves, Principal at Pirtle Elementary, speaks with potential applicants.

BHS Academic Awards Banquet--BHS students were recognized at the Banquet on Jan. 29 for being in the top 5 % of their class.

Long Range Facilities Planning Committee Meets--This committee met during fall 2008 and in Jan., 2009, to prioritize facilities needs.

Elementary UIL--Students prepare to compete during the UIL contest at Miller Heights Elementary on Dec. 6. with the theme, "Wild About Learning."

BEEF Awards Teacher Grants on Dec. 10 for classroom enrichment totaling almost $30,000.

Golden Apple Winners--Three teachers received Golden Apple Awards from KWTX, Ch. 10 during fall, 08.

United Way Presentation--Students presented funds raised during the United Way Kids Campaign to Ann Thompson, UW Director--a total of $7,081.32, on 10-30-08.

Time Warner Recognition--Natalie Tate (L) with Time Warner Cable made a presentation to former BHS students Katy Poulter and Sarah Colon for their winning entry in the Time Warner Cable Director's Final Cut contest. Also pictured are Amy Medina, BHS Theatre Arts instructor and Kathy Cook, BHS Principal. Both Katy and Sarah graduated last year.

Pre-K Recognition--Tyler Elementary Pre-K teacher Rosemary Haas receives her award for Pre-K Certification for School Readiness from Pre-K Mentor Carolyn Marks (L), and Director of Bi-lingual Programs Sue Banfield (R) on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

BMS United Way Celebration--Belton Middle School Assistant Principal Candace Gayle and Counselor Jim Deeken prepare to get a pie in the face as a reward for students who contributed to United Way.

United Way Kids Campaign--Students supported the United Way by purchasing links to a Spirit Chain for 25 cents each. Spirit Chains were displayed prior to the varsity football game on Oct. 17.

Miller Heights Park--Students from Miller Heights Elementary help city officials dedicate the new Miller Heights Community Park on Oct. 10.

BEEF Donor Recognition--The Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation Brick Walkway/Donor Event was held Saturday, Oct. 4. Girls' Harmony Choir performed.

Tarver Flag Ceremony--Tarver Elementary celebrates at its annual Flagpole Ceremony on Sept. 19 with the help of the 51st Signal Battalion.
