Substitute teaching is an ideal solution for those looking for a flexible work schedule and the chance to make a difference. Belton ISD is looking for qualified substitutes.

The mission of the Belton Independent School District is to provide an education that challenges all of our students to excel. To achieve this mission, each day must be filled with successful learning experiences conducted in a positive, nurturing environment.

Schools must have effective substitutes who will take the responsibility to ensure that the educational process is not interrupted when the regular teacher is absent. If you are hired as a substitute teacher, you should consider yourself a teacher with the responsibility that goes with the teacher assignment.

To become a substitute for BISD, the following is required:

1. Complete and submit the on-line application; then apply for a substitute position. This is a 2-step process. Applicants will receive an email confirmation upon successful completion. If application is completed at BISD Administration, verification must be obtained from HR personnel.

2. Attend a mandatory orientation at the BISD Administration Building, now located at 400 N. Wall St. Please bring a copy of your high school diploma or equivalent, or college diploma if available, Social Security card, and driver's license.
