Substitute TeachingBelton ISD Substitutes The mission of the Belton Independent School District is to provide an education that challenges all of our students to excel. To achieve this mission, each day must be filled with successful learning experiences conducted in a positive, nurturing environment. Schools must have effective substitutes who will take the responsibility to ensure that the educational process is not interrupted when the regular teacher is absent. If you are hired as a substitute teacher, you should consider yourself a teacher with the responsibility that goes with the teacher assignment. To become a substitute for BISD, the following is required: 2. Register and complete the on-line application; 3. Attend a mandatory orientation that is given each Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., beginning Aug. 20. The orientation is at the BISD Administration Building, now located at 400 N. Wall St. To register for the substitute orientation or to receive more information, contact Cindy Wiley at 254-215-2023, or email: cindy.wiley@bisd.net. Belton ISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs, activities, or employment practices. For inquiries regarding the non-discrimination policies, contact: Executive Director of Human Resources, 254-215-2015; or Director Elementary Curriculum and Instruction, 254-215-2037, 400 N. Wall St., Belton, TX 76513.
