Participants will have a chance to learn and practice valuable Microsoft Windows skills. The class will learn the basics of using the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications. Focus is placed upon the common skill set that is shared between the applications. Students will learn the touch-system of operating the keyboard to develop speed and accuracy.

In addition to keyboarding and the MS Office suite, this class also covers the use the Internet, Internet Ethics and Safety, as well as web page design. Other topics of enrichment may include the digital camera, digital video camera and/or the scanner. It is helpful if the student has some working knowledge of the computer. Students must have BISD's Internet Use Agreement Form on file.

Students successfully completing this course will be eligible to take Computer II or Business Computer Information Systems (BCIS) in the 8th Grade. This course is linked to Teen Leadership.
