My name is Barrrett Pollard. I am the principal here at Leon Heights. I graduated from Gatesville High School, and I continue to reside in Gatesville.  I received my MBA from Tarleton State University and I am currently taking doctoral classes at Baylor University.  I have taught at Connally High School, Copperas Cove High School, and Tarleton State University.  My wife, Caroline, and I have been married for four years.  My wife taught third grade for Killeen ISD, and recently graduated from Baylor’s Truett Seminary with a master's degree in divinity. We have a two year old son named Gabriel and a one year old daughter named Emma.

My name is RossAnn Johns. I am the Leon Heights Elementary receptionist.  I was a Kindergarten instructional aide for 13 years here at Leon Heights. I am married to Dennis. We have 3 children Zac, Adam & Myra.  I was born in Belton and lived here all my life. This is my 20th year here at Leon Heights.

My name is Barbara Hairston.  I am the school nurse at Leon Heights.  I was born in Cameron, Texas and graduated from Yoe High School.  I attended Southwest Texas State University but received my nursing degree from Temple College.  I have held a number of different positions in my nursing career including school nurse for three years in the Academy ISD.  I am married with 3 grown children. I am glad to be back in school nursing working with children.

Rick M

My name is Rick Michalek. I am privileged to be the school counselor at Leon Heights Elementary! I love working with students, faculty and staff, and families to help all students to succeed in school and life! I received my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College and an MS in Couneling Psychology from Tarleton State University-Central Texas. I retired after a 20 year career in the Army Chaplain Corps. My wife, Dene, is a special education teacher in Temple and I have eight children and 10 grandchildren.

My name is Rana Young, and I am fortunate to say that I am the art teacher at Leon Heights.  This is my ninth year to teach in Belton.  My family and I were brought to Texas from Indiana with the Military (my husband is an Army Apache pilot), and we have three children who have attended Belton schools (two are currently in High School).  I had a parent tell me last year that her son went home and said, “Mrs. Young really does love art!”  And I really do!  Evidently, my enthusiasm shows.  It is a pleasure and privilege to share my love of art with our students and to witness how they develop not only in creativity but in appreciation for the art (natural and man-made) all around them.

My name is Wendy Falsone.  I am married to a wonderful husband named Dub and have 2 sons, Trey & Andrew. Trey is a senior at BHS and Andrew is a 5th grader who attends Tyler Elementary. This is my first year at Leon Heights and I have the privilege of  helping children become better readers! All of my students are hard workers and I am blessed to teach each one.

I’m Laura Deeken, and I’ve been a speech pathologist for Belton ISD for 16 years. I love having the opportunity to travel to several schools and working with elementary students. I have a wonderful husband and two terrific kids. I grew up in West Texas and went to college at Baylor. I like to read, play on the computer and bake.

My name is Rebecca Minter and I am the Speech Therapist Assistantat Leon Heights and Southwest. I graduated from Geneva College (in western Pennsylvania) in December of 2008. I was actually born in Texas, but I mostly grew up in Connecticut and New York. After marrying my wonderful husband Tim in February of this year, an Army move brought us here to Belton. We love Texas so far and I am very excited to help students work on their speech and language this year!

My name is Ralph Masters I am the Instructional Facilitator at Leon Heights.  I earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.  I am married to Brenda.  We have three children.

My name is Nickole McCain-Morris and I am Leon Heights' School Nutrition Manager. I have worked for Belton ISD for five years and this is my third year at Leon Heights. I love the great staff and students at this school! I have two kids who are 17 and 13.

My name is Sara Arjon and I am the Lead Custodian at Leon Heights. This is my 18th year working for Belton ISD and my 11th year at Leon Heights. I am married with four kids and 8 grandbabies! The staff and students at this school make every day wonderful for me.
My name is Raymond Tamez and I am Lead Maintenance and the Crossing Guard at Leon Heights. I have been working for this school since August 2005. I live in Temple with my wife and I love to go camping in the desert mountains.
