Academics : Second Grade

23 years and I’m still going and loving it!  Miller Heights and 2nd grade have been my home for the last 23 years. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, which I did for several years before I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I have been married for 35 years and I have lived in the Temple/Belton area for 35 years.  My two daughters are my pride and joy – one is a clinical pharmacist at Scott and White, the other is a sophomore in college.  In my free time I love to read mystery books, make quilts, and hook rugs(I’m still a beginner at this).  I collect cookbooks and antique cookie jars.

I also have 3 old cats that complete my family. I have enjoyed being a teacher all these years.

Hello!  My name is Olivia Hammonds.  I have been teaching at Miller Heights since 2002.  Prior to that I  taught in several other Texas districts.  My longest tenure was in Washington state were I taught Kindergarten for fourteen years.I have a degree from Wayland Baptist University in Elementary Education, Kindergarten certification from University of Houston, Clear Lake, Tx. and a M. Ed.from University of Portland in Portland, OR.I have been married to my husband Richard Hammonds for 44 years.  We have three married children, six grandchildren and one great grand son. Our children are all working in the field of education We came back to Texas from Washington so that we could be close to our family.  We do enjoy our grandchildren!I am currently teaching second grade.  I love teaching children how to be strong readers and creative writers.

I’m Becky Medlock and live in Belton Texas. I’m married to Peter Medlock, who is a teacher/ coach at Belton High School. We are expecting our first baby on April 11, 2009. We have enjoyed living in Belton for the past 4 years. I first moved here to attend Mary Hardin Baylor, where I graduated from in 2006. This is my third year teaching, but my first year teaching at Belton. I have enjoyed teaching 2nd grade very much.
