Academics : Title I

My name is Janell Winkler.  I am a Title 1 teacher.  I love working with students K through 5th.  This is my 23rd year to teach at Miller Heights.  I graduated from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor.  I have a daughter who teaches.  I love spending time with my grandaughter.  I attend St. Paul Lutheran church.  I love spending time with family,  doing church activities, attending sporting events, and walking.   My e-mail is janell.winkler@bisd.net.

My name is Denise Sprott.  I have taught at Miller Heights for 21 years. For most of those years I taught kindergarten, but now I am a Title I teacher who helps kids in math and reading, kindergarten through 5th grade.  I have been married for thirty-three years to David Sprott. David is the lab manager for Belton Eye Care Center. We have two grown children.  Our son, David Allen Sprott, is an attorney in Temple and our daughter, Annie Drachenberg,  is a family physician in Houston.  They both went to Miller Heights Elementary!  I like bird-watching, reading, and working at The Open Door, a ministry of the church of Christ for people in the Miller Heights area.  My school e-mail address is denise.sprott@bisd.net.

Hello everyone,

My name is Carolyn O'Bannon. I am a Title 1 Aide here at Miller Heights Elementary.
I am married to my husband, Buddy. We have 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grand son.
When I'm not working, I LOVE spending time with my loving family. Buddy and I also have an Arts and Crafts business called Celebration Creations and we do shows in Canton, Tx. every month.
We both love children and it is such an honor for me to be able to work with your children everyday.
I believe every child has the right to the best possible education, and I hope I can contibute to that and in some small way be a positive influence toward their desire to obtain that education.
