Skyward Gateway serves as Belton ISD's portal to the various Skyward websites that parents, students, teachers and staff will link to access information. Skyward users should bookmark this site as their link into Skyward because resources, update information and important notices will all be posted on this site.
"Wired" versus "Wireless"
Connecting to Skyward using a "wired" connection is always the best option when in the classroom! Connect the network cable from the outlet to your laptop and make the following changes:
Laptops E5400 or E5410 have a physical switch on front.
Laptop D630 has a physical switch on the side.
Laptops D520 or D510 have a software switch.
When moving your laptop back to "wireless" be sure and move the physical (or software) switch.
If you have difficulty connecting with Skyward, please follow these steps:
Be sure and use the Skyward Gateway links on the Belton ISD website to be sure the error is not a shortcut error.
If you get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the website" error, this indicates your computer is trying to connect. Try again.
If you know your classroom is in an area that has poor wireless connection, ask your campus tech to help get you ‘wired’.
Most Skyward updates are done while users are still in the Skyward programs; and updates that require users to be logged off will be scheduled 2-3 days in advance. Scheduled updates usually begin about 4:00 p.m., after most users are finished for the day but when we still have the ability to contact Skyward Support for assistance, if necessary. Skyward backups occur nightly, beginning about 11:00 p.m. and continuing until about 3:00 a.m. During this time, users may experience slowness or even loss of connection.
