A Note From Our Principal

sandersDear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Roxanne Sanders and I am thrilled to be a part of this dynamic learning community.  I have been teaching at this school for 18 years.  I am married to Steven and we have two children, Lauren and Kyle.  All four of us have graduated from Belton High School. It is a privilege to continue to be a part of the BISD family.

I am pleased to welcome all of you to Southwest Elementary School’s website. The Southwest Community takes pride in helping all of our students achieve to their highest potential. We strive to make our school a caring, nurturing and safe place for learning. It is my privilege to work with a talented and dedicated staff that demonstrates high expectations and the belief that all children can learn.

We realize the importance of developing in each child an attitude of self-respect and self-worth. We provide a variety of opportunities for students to form meaningful and responsible relationships. We have designed clear, academic targets in line with the Belton Independent School District goals for each grade level, so that everyone can work together to achieve these goals.

Southwest has developed several support systems to help students who may need different instructional or assessment strategies to help or challenge them further. We encourage you to call us with questions, concerns, and comments.

It is Southwest Elementary’s belief that by working together we can build a strong partnership, thereby providing our students with the necessary tools to become productive and contributing members of society.

Sincerely,

Roxanne Sanders
Principal
