The 4th grade team endeavors to build self confident learners that strive to be a vital part of their own learning. We work together to teach, enrich, and extend the 4th grade curriculum, as well as, prepare our students to successfully exhibit the Tiger Traits of diligence, respect, self-control, initiative, acceptance, courage, patience, honesty, responsibility, and kindness. It is our mission to show our belief and expectation that these will be essential for their success as lifelong learners.

Week of Nov. 17-21, 2008

Math

Classwork- Students will learn methods for solving 2 digit times 2 digit multiplication problems.

Homework - Varies from week to week. Check student planners daily for homework information.

Language Arts/Reading

Reading – Reading Workshop: Multiple meaning words.

Homework – Reading 30 minutes per night and filling in the reading log found in the Take Home folder.

Writing – Writing Workshop: Begin writing compositions about a time something memorable that has happened to them.

Word Work– Spelling

Word Study: Homophones.

Homework – Spelling Spirals will be due on Friday.

Science/Social Studies

Science –Students will be learning about Earth’s land formations and what effects erosion and weathering have.

Homework – Check planners daily for homework assignments.

Social Studies– Missions, Presidios, and towns.

Homework–Check student planner daily for homework information.
