Mrs. Kathy Silvas joined the Waskow faculty in 2007 to teach the Technology Business courses, as well as Work-Based Learning (Co-op) and Career Studies. She is also the campus webmaster, and a campus technologist.
A life-long cat person, Mrs. Silvas always seems to have a picture of one of her cats handy, which explains the picture of her cat, Serena, above. She and her husband of five years celebrated the birth of their baby girl last Spring.
Mrs. Silvas was born in upstate New York, but spent most of her school years in the Central Texas area. She received her Bachelors Degree in English from the University of Texas, where she also worked as a secretary for five years.
Mrs. Silvas is no stranger to education. She has been an educator for 12 years, with certifications in: Secondary English, Secretarial Business, and Library Media Specialist. Currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Technology Degree from the University of Texas in Brownsville, she hopes to complete the degree in May 2009. |
