  • Project Update - May 2024

The 2022 Bond included funding for Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Fine Arts additions at Belton High School, upgrades for the existing CTE spaces, and other capital improvements and renovations.

Following the passage of the 2022 Bond, the district collaborated with stakeholders to identify program requirements. Architectural design began in the fall of 2022 and was completed by O’Connell Robertson Architects in April 2023.

    The projects include -

    Fine Arts Addition:
The building design includes a new band hall with ensemble and percussion and office and storage spaces for instruments, uniforms, and color guards.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Addition:
The building designs include a CTE Addition that includes classroom spaces for ROTC, AV, and Culinary Programs, portrait/broadcasting/green studio spaces, and a kitchen and cafe.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Renovation/Upgrades:
The designs for the existing CTE building renovations include upgrades to the construction shop, wood shop, and classrooms for agriculture and vet tech programs.

May 2024 Update: The Band Hall addition is on track to reach substantial completion in time for summer band workouts, which begin in mid-July. The CTE Building addition is also scheduled for a July 2024 completion. Renovation of the existing CC Building started in April 2024 and is currently in full swing. Work on newly renovated spaces is on track for an August 2024 completion.

Construction crews have also mobilized and begun interior renovation work within the existing main building at Belton High School. Work this summer will include replacing HVAC systems, installing new corridor flooring throughout the entire building, new corridor paint, and new interior building signage. The existing Band Hall is scheduled to be renovated and repurposed for theater instruction.  This work will begin as soon as the Marching 100 moves into their new space. Work on the Black Box renovation is expected to be completed before the Fall 2024 semester ends.
