Project Update - May 2024

The 2022 Bond included funding for classroom additions at Southwest Elementary, reducing the district’s dependence on long-term portable buildings to accommodate new students.
 
This elementary addition was designed following Belton ISD’s 2022 Educational Specifications, and designs include ten classrooms, art and music rooms, and a new gymnasium. Plans include collaborative spaces for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and teacher planning.

May 2024 Update: Both building additions are dried in.  Substantial completion of the gym addition is expected in late June or early July 2024. The Classroom addition is expected to be ready for the start of the 2024-2025 school year. In addition, construction crews have also started summer work on improvements within the existing building, including HVAC replacements, re-roofing, and installation of a new fire alarm system and building intercom system. Overall progress remains on schedule for an August 2024 completion.
