Take a Vet to School Day
Our sixth annual recognition of our community members who are veterans will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 beginning at 7:30. If you are a veteran who served at any time in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard (or the reserve forces of any of these components) please consider attending our event. There will be a welcome breakfast, a school-wide assembly to recognize veterans, and classroom talks by our veterans to inform students about life in the military. Please fill out the survey below so we will know how many veterans to plan for. (If you do not want to talk to groups of students, you do not have to, but please still consider attending our breakfast and assembly.) If you have questions, you can reach Mrs. Necessary at 215-3005.

Do you need Holiday Meal assistance?

Helping Hands Ministry registration for Holiday assistance is happening now. CIS will not be assisting with meals.

CIS is working with Builders Club at SBMS and Helping Hands Ministry this year to provide for Holiday meals. The Builders Club at South Belton Middle School is doing a food drive and all food received will be donated to Helping Hands Ministry to serve our community. CIS is referring families who need assistance this year to Helping Hands. The deadline for Thanksgiving registration for a meal is November 9th. Please, if you need assistance contact Helping Hands at 254-939-7355, or go by and register as soon as possible. This is replacing the food baskets CIS has done in the past. Christmas registration opens on November 27th and runs through December 7th. The earlier you register your family the better. Again, this is replacing the food baskets CIS has done in the past.

1:1 Digital Learning Initiative

  • photo of a student working on a iPad
Belton ISD’s one-to-one digital learning initiative increases student engagement and connects students to numerous resources that enrich the learning process. The district began deploying devices (either iPads or MacBook Pros) to students at South Belton Middle School and Belton New Tech High School @Waskow in 2011. Belton High School was added in 2012 and Lake Belton Middle School in 2013. With the addition of North Belton Middle School in 2014, every secondary campus is a one-to-one learning environment.
