     Our Mission

To provide an environment that inspires all of our students and teachers to excel.

There is a growing body of research that provides strong evidence of a direct link between the condition of the facilities and grounds and academic engagement, student achievement, attendance, disruptive behavior, and teacher turnover.

"The conditions of school facilities were correlated to student outcomes, including student achievement, attendance, and perception of the school environment.  The long-term effect on these outcomes was significant".

    - Dr. Gary Wade McGiboney, Ph.D. (2016) commenting on an 8-year study of a large school district in El Paso, Texas

The Maintenance Department consists of over 125 custodial and grounds professionals that are committed to helping BISD students succeed in academics, athletics, and in life.
