I am so excited to be part of the BECS school family! This will be my seventh year of experience in education, five of which were spent teaching 3rd grade math and science. I attended UMHB for undergraduate studies and Texas A&M Central Texas to become a certified school counselor.
As the school counselor at BECS, my goal is to create a comprehensive counseling program in which all students are given the knowledge and skills to become successful and productive citizens, as well as independent/cooperative learners. I believe all students have the ability to succeed and become more resilient with an effective counseling program and a positive, supportive school environment. I also believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect, dignity and unconditional positive regard.
The counseling program at Belton Early Childhood School incorporates whole-group guidance lessons for every classroom which have a monthly focus topic to build character and social skills. Additionally, the counseling program also includes responsive services for individual or small groups of students with specific needs.
I look forward to working collaboratively with students, parents, and the BECS school family to ensure a productive and successful 2015-16 school year!
