    Deanna Lovesmith, an educator for 22 years, became Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for Belton ISD on July 20, 2014. Dr. Lovesmith started her career in education teaching math at the middle school level. She has been a school counselor and served in school administration for the past 16 years. Dr. Lovesmith has served as a Director of Federal Programs and Curriculum in the Waco area and as principal of Belton New Tech High School @Waskow in Belton ISD.
    Dr. Lovesmith attended Baylor University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education and Masters of Science in Educational Psychology. While attending Baylor, she was one of two students awarded the President's Award.  In 2009, she earned her doctorate from Texas A&M University in Educational Administration.  Her focus work was on school design in relation to student learning.
    In 2011, she came to Belton ISD to open Belton New Tech High School @Waskow with a focus on project-based learning.  In just three years, the campus was recognized as an Apple Distinguished School and a demonstration site for the New Tech Network. Dr. Lovesmith contributes this success to teachers that are lifelong learners committed to excellence and students who love to learn and lead others.

    Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources

    Todd Schiller is an accomplished human resources professional with over 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Todd’s expertise includes recruiting and staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and compliance with labor and employment laws.

    Mr. Schiller started his career in human resources at Scott & White Hospital before joining Austin ISD in 2003. Mr. Schiller was employed by Belton ISD in 2008 as the Director of Human Resources Information Systems and became Executive Director of Human Resources in 2010. In July 2017, he was named Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. 

    Mr. Schiller attended Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration. He received his Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Tarleton State University. He is certified through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), which is the world’s largest HR professional society. 

    Mr. Schiller and his wife, Dawn, grew up in the area and have two children attending Belton schools.
