    What Does a School Counselor Do?
    • Develops a guidance plan and provides classroom guidance lessons to all students covering topics as communication skills, bully prevention, sexual abuse awareness, and goal setting
    • Counsels with students individually and/or in groups
    • Responds to student needs in crisis situations
    • Schedules classes and orients students to new school settings
    • Helps students register for the following year classes
    • Works with absentees, potential dropouts and other at-risk students
    • Participates actively in the referral process of students to special programs and/or services and agencies outside the school
    • Analyzes test results to provide information about abilities, achievement, interest and needs
    • Conducts conferences with parents
    • Consults with teachers, administrators and other professionals
    Scheduling Parent Conferences
    We encourage all parents to schedule and meet with their child's teachers throughout the school year. Please call the counselor's secretary to schedule an appointment.
    Reporting Child Abuse/Neglect
