Dual Credit Courses
Dual Credit is an early admission program for high school students in grades 9-12 that allows students to earn college credit while in high school. Belton ISD partners with Temple College, The University of Texas at the Permian Basin, and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to provide dual credit opportunities. Student interested in enrolling in dual credit courses must do so through their school counselor and must meet the admissions criteria of the college they will attend. The higher learning institutions that work with Belton ISD are fully accredited and most credits will transfer to other Texas state colleges. However, dual credit courses do not always transfer to out-of-state schools and private colleges and universities in Texas. Students should check their college's course listing, and use the Texas Common Numbering System to make sure these classes are accepted by the college they want to attend.
To enroll in a Dual Credit course, students should contact their high school counselor.
