Dr. Malinda Golden joined Belton ISD as deputy superintendent in June 2020, bringing 30 years of experience in public education and a commitment to each and every student to the role.
Dr. Golden’s career began in the classroom teaching middle school science and advanced to include campus and district leadership roles within large, fast-growth school districts in Central Texas. Those positions include assistant/associate high school principal, director of leadership development, executive director for school improvement, assistant superintendent and deputy superintendent.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University majoring in biomedical sciences. Her master’s degree in educational administration was completed at Texas State University and she holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Golden’s husband is a lieutenant in the Round Rock Police Department, and they are the proud parents of five adult children.
