Our Task:
-
Create an agile and flexible plan with exceptional student learning experiences being the constant for the 2020-2021 school year.
The pillars of Belton ISD’s response to COVD-19 planning process are collaboration and feedback. The district believes that bringing together the brightest thinkers to sketch out ideas, then running them through our stakeholders, will ultimately lead to the best plans.
Superintendent Dr. Matt Smith tasked his Design Planning Team, composed of leaders from across the district, with planning for multiple scenarios the district is likely to face in the coming months.
“With the fluidity of the COVID-19 situation, our plans can’t just be for what we know today,” he said. “There are a lot of different variables, and our job is to plan for all of them. So we’re not just planning for our first day. We’re planning for the entire year.
**The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is requiring all districts to offer in-person and virtual learning options. Belton ISD will do this but is also planning for other possible scenarios we may face.
