Financial Ambassador Program

  • Belton ISD values the support and engagement of our community. We strive to keep our community informed about all the great things happening here at BISD.

    We are currently hosting a Financial Ambassador Program. Our purpose is to educate our community about the fundamentals of school finance and provide insight into the financial operations of the school district. 

    This is a three-part series: 

    • October 24, 2024: A general overview of district financial operations and an introduction to the instructional programs supported by school funding.
    • November 14, 2024: An in depth look at school district funding formulas, tax rate and budget adoption and staffing allocations.
    • December 3, 2024: An in depth look at the budget process, revenue projections, tax rate calculations and notices and State funding settle-up.

    • How school districts are funded
      • Property tax & State funds
    • How tax rates are calculated and adopted
    • How we financially operate as a district
    • How staffing is determined, and more.
