Project Update - September 2024

The 2022 Bond included funding for classroom additions at Southwest Elementary, reducing the district’s dependence on long-term portable buildings to accommodate new students.
 
This elementary addition was designed following Belton ISD’s 2022 Educational Specifications, and includes ten classrooms, art and music rooms, and a new gymnasium. The addition also includes collaborative spaces for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and teacher planning.

September 2024 Update: This project attained contractual substantial completion on August 13, 2024. The gym addition and two-story classroom addition are in full operation. Renovations to existing HVAC, fire alarm, and intercom systems were also completed prior to the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Removal of the temporary gym structure and rehabilitation of the site is expected to be complete by the end of October 2024. The construction team is currently wrapping up punch list work and final closeout documentation. Contractual final completion is expected in the next 60 days.
