• Parents are partners in Belton ISD, so their feedback is important to help us understand what we're doing well, along with opportunities for improvement. These reviews were submitted by parents during the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Amanda FerrellMy oldest son started his elementary career at High Point and we could not have been happier with the teachers he’s had, the education he’s received and the experiences he’s been given. Many of his teachers are now teaching my younger son, which to me shows that it’s a place teachers want to be.

Shelly MoehlenbrockWe are grateful to the educators at Belton High School. We’ve observed the development of JohnZachary's character in the two years he's attended. He is developing resiliency through rigorous academic challenges. His leadership abilities are being discovered and cultivated through extracurricular activities and clubs. Through numerous athletics teams, he is learning grit and determination. All facets of the campus are truly working to ensure his success long after he departs from the halls of Belton High School.

Everyone has been so caring and intentional with how they interact with my children. This year my child is in an inclusive co-teach class, and I am absolutely so thrilled. This IS inclusion! Inclusion needs to be everywhere to truly be inclusive. Inclusion can't just be in a special education classroom. It starts in the parking lot and needs to continue throughout every person and room in the building. And they have definitely nailed this at BECS! I love seeing my child learn, interact and build relationships with children of all different abilities. Learning this at such a young age is an important life lesson and will impact their compassion, understanding, relationships and their heart throughout their entire school experience and beyond.

Oyinlola WhiteMy younger son is currently a second-grader at Southwest. He started in kindergarten, and his experience has been amazing thus far. I really appreciate how the teachers/staff really get to know the students and are able to meet their educational needs. My older son attended as well and it was an easy decision to enroll my younger son knowing that the staff truly enjoy teaching our little ones.

Barbara PickettLBHS is a beautiful school, and its staff has certainly worked well with our girls. Our family could not be more pleased with the atmosphere of safety, learning, communication and staff. Communication with administration, when needed, has been positive.

CovingtonWe couldn't be happier having our kids in BISD! The teachers, staff and administration at Leon Heights Elementary are unmatched. It truly has a family atmosphere and the campus is so welcoming to parents. The teachers do a great job at providing exceptional learning experiences for the students at each grade level. I'm always impressed with how they engage my kids and make them excited about learning. (Recaps of Mr. Jackson's social studies lessons ALWAYS make for lively dinner table conversations!) While we are new to Belton Middle School, our experience there has been stellar as well. It is very apparent that safety is a top priority and they do a great job of communicating with parents. We also love all the opportunities our son has to explore his interests - like the fantastic BMS band program and the "Battle of the Books" reading competition!

We have had kids at Lakewood for 10 years now, and we still love our school. Each grade of teachers are close with each other and genuinely seem to love each other as a team. The administration is always looking for ways to improve the curriculum, management, and happiness at the school. There is also a very active PTA, allowing parents to be involved when they are able. Children are valued and given opportunities for service, such as safety patrol, service club, toy drives, and classroom jobs.

Katie FournierAs a parent of a student at Sparta Elementary, I am overjoyed to be a part of this school. Sparta is an exemplary public school with professional leadership and enthusiastic staff. Teachers and staff foster an environment of inspiration, creativity, and ingenuity. Students, families, and district and community members are all welcome. Sparta Elementary is family!

This is our daughter's fifth year in Belton ISD. We've always had great experiences, but were completely won over by her fourth-grade teacher, Ms. Holmes! It was a transitional year for us, and she went out of her way to make us all — and most importantly our daughter — feel right at home. We've been overly grateful for all of her teachers and the way that they look out for the kids and encourage and love them like their own.

LuceSparta Elementary truly encompasses the meaning of community. From the crossing guard to the PE coach, to the counselor and principal — parents and students are greeted with a warm welcome every morning. The Saber Paws reward system encourages kindness and respect and offers fun prizes, such as karaoke with the principals. We love that our children are not only furthering their academic development, but they are also learning social skills and the importance of community involvement.

Emily GrotelueschenThe teachers we have been involved with have always kept us updated on our child's progress, and if anything was ever not going well, we knew about it immediately and they already had a plan on how to help our child. We would highly recommend High Point or any Belton school because of the wonderful experience we have been a part of.

Hollie BaldridgeWe moved to Belton in 2020 when so many things were uncertain. We were leaving a tight-knit community, and we were all a little apprehensive about what a larger school district would be like — especially during a time when things were changing minute-to-minute. After my first phone call with the receptionist at Leon Heights, I knew we were going to be OK! We have four children at three different campuses, and our experience across the board has been the same. Each campus, each teacher, each administrator cares for our children, not only academically but also emotionally. We are thankful to be part of the Big Red Community!

Felica GlassWe moved to Belton from Houston in February 2021, and I was anxious about switching schools mid-year with my girls. Going from an extremely high-volume school where my girls were treated as just a number to Southwest Elementary — where both of my daughters are known by name by teachers and staff and seem to be truly seen and appreciated — really made an impact on me. My daughters have built lasting relationships with their teachers and have expressed how safe and accepted they feel while at school. The staff is consistently kind and friendly while maintaining professionalism. They take the safety of our little people very seriously, and in this day and age, that is incredibly important. I am immensely grateful we've found ourselves part of the Southwest Elementary community.

Aimee WellsAs a military family, we have attended numerous schools across the country. Leon Heights SHINES brighter than them all. Both the staff and teachers are authentic in encouraging individuality, respect toward others and creative learning. The Lion Pride is shown through the ROAR of devoted dedication and unwavering commitment each student receives daily. We are incredibly grateful to be part of a school that shows so much heart. Let's hear that ROAR!
