• Belton ISD Seeks Feedback on Attendance Boundary Scenarios

Belton ISD is currently updating the elementary attendance boundaries as we prepare to open new schools and additional classroom spaces. The district’s ultimate goal through this process is to provide exceptional learning experiences where each and every student can thrive, while also managing growth, maximizing the use of our facilities, and reducing our use of long-term portables.

Belton ISD strives to partner with parents and values the input of stakeholders. The district is seeking feedback regarding three attendance boundary scenarios. Please watch the video above, and at the end of the video, you will have the opportunity to submit feedback on the three scenarios. Your input will help inform the final attendance boundary recommendation BISD will provide to the Board of Trustees in March. The window to submit feedback closes March 10 at 4 p.m.

Following the Board of Trustee’s anticipated adoption of the Attendance Boundaries on March 27, BISD will share detailed information about:

    • The updated attendance boundaries for all BISD elementary schools.

    • The planned January 2024 opening of James L. Burrell Elementary. Once attendance boundaries are adopted, BISD will be working to support students assigned to the new campus, while providing immediate relief to Tarver Elementary.

    • The circumstances in which a student may be eligible to remain at their current campus.

    • The BISD campuses that will be open for new transfer requests.

BISD will also host two come-and-go in-person listening sessions regarding the attendance boundary scenarios on March 7 from 5:30-7 pm and March 10 from 7-8:30 am at BISD Central Administration, 400 N. Wall Street in Belton.

If you have questions about the attendance boundary process, please contact Assistant Superintendent of Operations Michael Morgan at 254-215-2009 or email Michael.Morgan@bisd.net.
