Senate Bill 10 - Ten Commandments
SB10 was passed during the 89th legislative session that requires all public school classrooms to display a poster of the Ten Commandments if donated. Several members of our community have donated posters that will be displayed in classrooms starting January 2026.
It is important to understand the specific requirement of the law, which states that the posters are to be displayed. There is no instructional component or requirement included in this law. The posters are for display only.
We are committed to maintaining a learning environment that is inclusive and respectful of all students, families and staff. This law does not change our district’s mission to provide a high-quality education for each and every student. Our teachers and staff have been guided on how to comply with this law while ensuring that the educational environment remains focused on the approved curriculum.
