Project Update - June 2025
The 2022 Bond included approximately $8.9 million for the district's Mechanical Engineering and Plumbing upgrades.
June 2025 Update: Significant HVAC upgrades to the existing facilities are complete at Belton High School, Southwest Elementary, and Lake Belton Middle School. Approximately $5 million of the originally budgeted $8.9 million in MEP projects went toward these campuses.
Work has started on the remaining facilities scheduled for HVAC replacement and lighting upgrades. Energy audits have been completed for Pirtle Elementary, Belton Middle School, Belton New Tech High School, Belton Early Childhood School, DAEP Facility, Lakewood Elementary, and Sparta Elementary. The energy audit reports will guide design decisions for these facilities' HVAC and/or Interior Lighting improvements. Hendrix Consulting Engineers was selected to lead the design effort for HVAC and Lighting Improvements at these facilities.
A purchase agreement for new equipment to replace aging HVAC systems at the Roy & Jean Potts Belton Swim Center will be presented to the Board for approval at their June 16, 2025 regular meeting. Delivery and installation of the new swim center HVAC equipment is expected in August 2025. Replacement of HVAC systems at the DAEP facility is underway and expected to be complete prior to the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
HVAC and lighting improvements for Pirtle Elementary, Belton Middle School, Belton Early Childhood School, Belton New Tech High School, Lakewood Elementary, and Sparta Elementary are in the design development phase. Pre-purchase agreements for new HVAC equipment needed at these schools is scheduled for Board approval in July 2025. Delivery and installation of new HVAC equipment for these facilities should be complete by Fall 2026.
