Media Procedures
Belton ISD values strong relationships with our local media and recognizes the important role they play in helping share the stories of our students, staff and schools. To ensure a safe, respectful, and coordinated experience for all, we ask media representatives to follow the guidelines outlined below.
Belton ISD is a closed district—media inquiries must go through the Communications Department. All media visits must be approved in advance and accompanied by a member of the Communications Department at all times. Campus and department staff have been instructed to direct all requests accordingly.
- Members of the media are not permitted on campus or in district buildings without prior authorization from the Communications Department. (Please note: Belton ISD Athletics manages all sports-related media requests.)
- Media representatives must check in at the front office upon arrival with a valid government-issued ID and wear a visible visitor badge at all times.
- Please refrain from photographing students whose guardians have opted out of media permissions. A Communications Department member will be present to assist with this.
- Interviews with students or staff must be coordinated through the Communications Department.
For media access or interview requests, please reach out to Candice Griffin, Communications Director, at 254-215-2081 or candice.griffin@bisd.net to coordinate details.
In the event of a crisis or emergency, only the Chief Communications Officer or an authorized designee is permitted to speak to the media.
Thank you for partnering with us to highlight the achievements and milestones across Belton ISD. Your collaboration helps us share meaningful stories while upholding the safety, privacy, and learning environment of our students and staff.
Emergency Communications
In the event of an emergency, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. This page serves as a central hub for up-to-date information, including instructions for families, status updates during an incident, and details about the district’s reunification process. We encourage all parents and guardians to familiarize themselves with this information in advance. During any emergency, please check ParentSquare and this page regularly for official updates directly from the district.
