Federal Programs

The Title I program provides supplemental funding to school districts to acquire additional education resources at schools serving high concentrations of students from low-income homes.  These resources are used to improve the quality of education programs and ensure that all students have opportunities to meet challenging state assessments.

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds for staffing associated with academic intervention to support student success and related staff development opportunities.

The purpose of Title II, Part A is to supplement staff development in district/campus priority areas, enhance recruiting, hiring, and retention of highly qualified teachers and improve the quality of our principal, teacher, and paraprofessional work force through staff development.  

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds for staff development opportunities and staffing needs.

Title III, Part A aims to ensure that English learners (ELs) and immigrant students attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement in English.  Title III will also assist all English learners to meet the same challenging State academic standards that all children are expected to meet.

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds to strengthen systems of support for English Learners such as professional development and instructional resources.

The overarching goal of Title IV, Part A is to increase the capacity of school districts and campuses to meet the following three goals:

1. Provide all students access to a well-rounded education

2. Improve academic outcomes by maintaining safe and healthy students

3. Improve the use of technology to advance student academic achievement

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds to support student learning in STEM subjects, professional development for digital learning and counseling services, and staffing needs and materials to support health and safety practices in the schools.

The purpose of IDEA Part B funds is to help ensure that all students with disabilities have available a free, appropriate public education, which includes special education and related services to meet their unique needs.  

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds for staffing needs such as special education personnel, related services providers, materials, and supplies for use with children with disabilities.

The purpose of this program is to 1) Foster innovation through the identification and promotion of promising and proven CTE programs, practices, and strategies that prepare individuals for non-traditional fields, and 2) Promoting the development, implementation, and adoption of programs of study or career pathways aligned with state identified high skill, high wage, in-demand occupations, or industries.

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds for staffing needs and materials to support student learning in the CTE programs.

ESSER grant funds support activities related to preventing, preparing for, and responding to COVID-19, including hiring new staff and avoiding layoffs.  The ARP Act has an allocation to address learning loss through the implementation of interventions to respond to students’ academic, social, and emotional needs impacted by COVID-19. 

• Our LEA’s preliminary plan includes using these funds to purchase supplies to sanitize and clean the facilities, support staffing needs to maintain the continuity of services, continue to employ existing staff, and initiate targeted student interventions as needed.

• The ARP application includes a second area to address the safe re-opening of our schools.
