Library Services

Parents have a vital role in their child’s learning, especially reading. Knowing what your child is reading and being able to either read with them, ask questions, or discuss their reading is essential. With that in mind, we have ensured you can access your child's library catalog here.

How to Access Your Child's History and Checkouts

If parents have concerns about specific books available in the library, they are encouraged to speak with their child’s school librarian/digital information specialist. The librarian/digital information specialist can ensure a student is unable to check out any book flagged as inappropriate for their child.

Librarian Contact List

As required by House Bill 900, 88th R.S. (2023), TSLAC has adopted mandatory collection development standards for school libraries

School Library Advisory Council

The board has established a local School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) composed of parents, librarians,  community representatives, classroom teachers, district administrators nominated by the board, who work with the district to ensure library materials reflect community values and meet state library standards. The council reviews and makes recommendations on adding or removing books, ensures materials are age-appropriate, advises on library policies, and may suggest partnerships with local libraries and organizations. Meeting at least twice each year, the council provides a strong parent and community voice in guiding school library decisions.

Meeting dates, agendas, and minutes will be posted here.
