Class of 2021
Graduation Day is almost here! We’re excited to share more details to help you prepare for the special day. Please read carefully so you know what to expect throughout the celebration. ~ Mrs. Thomason and Mr. Smith
- Belton High School - Session 1 begins at 8:00 a.m.
- Belton New Tech High @ Waskow begins at 10:00 a.m.
- Belton High School - Session 2 begins at 12:00 p.m.
Casual clothing is appropriate for guests and under your graduate’s gown. Remember that it’s likely to be H-O-T. Please wear comfortable shoes that will allow you to walk on turf. Thank you for adhering to Belton ISD’s policy from the student handbook that states, in part: No adornments may be added to the regalia beyond the collars, sashes, medals and cords which represent District academic standards.
Clear Bag Policy
For the safety and security of our Class of 2021 graduates and their families and friends joining in the celebration, Belton ISD Athletics’ clear bag policy will be in place at Tiger Field. See the policy here. Umbrellas are also not allowed in the stands.
Arrival, Stage Walk, Diploma & Departure
Family and friends who have tickets to attend a ceremony will enter on the Home side at Gate 1 and will proceed into the stands. Seating will be first come, first serve. Please be considerate of others by not holding or blocking seats.
Graduates enter on the Visitor and will be directed to their seats on the field. Staff members will help graduates line up to walk the stage. Before crossing the stage, your graduate will have the opportunity to take professional photos from Flash Photography to commemorate the day.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates will exit the field together and will be led as a group to pick up official diplomas in an area designated near the assigned parking area.
Here is the link where you will be able to view the live stream shortly before each graduation ceremony. A final video of the livestream will be downloadable later this summer at the same link.
Tiger Media Photos
Tiger Media photographers will be capturing candid moments throughout the day. Images will be uploaded into a Flickr album that all graduates will be able to search and download directly from. The album will be available at www.bisd.net/photos.
Parking lots will be open for the fireworks show beginning at 9:00 p.m. The show is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. at the conclusion of Project Celebration. The section of Tiger Drive behind the scoreboard will be blocked off for safety. But other than that - find a good spot to park and enjoy the show! You may get out of your vehicle, but please stay near it.
Rain or shine, we look forward to celebrating the class of 2021. Ceremonies will only be delayed or moved due to lightning. Changes will be communicated to graduates through a district email and/or text to parents and guardians. June 11 is the bad weather make-up day. Per the district's athletic policy, umbrellas are not allowed in the stands.
Graduates Unable to Attend
Beginning June 14, diplomas will be available for pick-up in the office at each campus for graduates not participating in the June 10 Graduation Ceremony.
