Project Update - September 2024
The 2022 Bond included funding for technology infrastructure improvements and devices for students and staff.
Infrastructure
Prop A addressed replacing out-of-date technology infrastructure so that Belton ISD can replace antiquated equipment, increase the network speed, and ensure a dependable network throughout the district. Belton ISD’s Technology Department collaborates with the Business and Finance Department to ensure the district maximizes all funding sources, including rebates from the federal government, before any purchases or improvements.
The district applied for E-rate funding and expanded the dark fiber network at Burrell and Hubbard Branch Elementary. As of June of 2024, the dark fiber project is complete.
Devices
Prop B addressed purchasing new student and staff devices. Based on the age of the previous items in circulation, the district began purchasing additional student devices in June 2024 in order to replace all middle school student Chromebooks.
As of the start of the 2024-25 school year, all of these devices have been delivered and are in use.
