Leon Heights Students Welcomed by New Principal

Leon Heights Elementary School students were welcomed on their first day of school by a new campus principal, Marcie Beck.

“The first day of school was fabulous!” Beck said. “Students began and ended the day with smiles on their faces and many said they couldn’t wait for day number 2 to come.”

A familiar face around the District, Beck has 18 years of experience working in education, all of which have been in service to students in Belton ISD. Most recently she served as an assistant principal at Sparta Elementary. Beck holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Stepping into the role of principal was a natural next step for Beck who has also previously worked as an elementary teacher, instructional facilitator/testing coordinator, and instructional coach.

When asked about what she looks forward to this school year, Beck described activities that will, “continue to build a culture of understanding and acceptance for all our Leon Heights learners, as we create special moments for every student.”

“I would like to tell our Leon Heights parents that their children can look forward to a year full of quality instruction, engaging activities, and plenty of fun,” said Beck.
