BEEF Presents More Than $285,000 in Scholarships to Belton ISD Seniors
Belton ISD seniors were awarded more than $285,000 in scholarships by the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation (BEEF) this week. The awards were presented to 156 Belton High School and Belton New Tech High School @Waskow students.
“The partnership that exists between Belton ISD and BEEF is all about the success of our kids,” said Dr. Matt Smith, superintendent. “We are so very thankful for all that the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation has done for our students and our schools.”
BEEF Board President Ellen Burnett said 100% of the organization’s funding comes from private sources such as individuals, corporations and foundations.
“Our donors appreciate the impact they are able to make by investing in Belton students with scholarships,” Burnett said. “We are grateful for their partnership and continued generosity. It truly makes a difference in the lives of these students.”
BEEF was founded in 1992 by BISD alumni to enhance the quality of education for all students in Belton ISD. The independent, community-based non-profit provides teacher grants, scholarships and other programs to support economically disadvantaged students.
