Five Student-Athletes Ink Collegiate Letters of Intent
Five Belton ISD seniors signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers on Wednesday.
Teammates Madison Lux and Zakayia Fredrick, from Lake Belton High School, will continue playing softball for Tarleton State University and Texas A&M International University, respectively. Kaylee Jordan, from Belton High School, will play softball for Weatherford College.
Chandler Cooke, from LBHS, will play golf for the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Mason Gerrard, also from LBHS, will play baseball at Temple Junior College.
“Days like today make me very proud to be the athletic director in Belton ISD,” Sam Skidmore said. “I’ve seen these kids work so hard at their sport and in the classroom over the years and today we see the payoff — a commitment to play at the next level. We are so proud of them and are excited to celebrate this well-deserved accomplishment.”
Coaches, teammates, family and friends gathered Wednesday for the milestone event.
“We believe that no matter how far they travel in their lives and what great success they might have, they will always have a home in Belton ISD as Tigers and Broncos,” Skidmore said.
