Mike Morgan Appointed Deputy Superintendent for Belton ISD

Belton ISD has named Mike Morgan as its Deputy Superintendent. Morgan brings 17 years of experience within the district, having previously held the role of Assistant Superintendent of Operations since June 2019. His journey with the district began in July 2007 as Assistant Director of Athletics and a coach, progressing to the position of Director of Athletics from February 2017 until June 2019. Prior to joining Belton ISD, Morgan was the athletic director and head football coach of Gatesville ISD. 

 

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Todd Schiller expressed the district's excitement at appointing Mike Morgan as Deputy Superintendent. “With 29 years dedicated to education, including 23 years of impactful leadership, he brings extensive experience as a strategist and team builder. Throughout Morgan’s career, he has effectively supervised and coached various leaders, ranging from executive directors to principals, coordinators, and head coaches, fostering growth and success at every level."

 

Morgan earned his Bachelor of Exercise Sports Science degree from Southwest Texas State University and later pursued a Master of Coaching and an Athletic Administration degree from Concordia University Irvine. He is currently working towards completing his Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University, expected to be awarded in December 2024.

 

The Deputy Superintendent position has been vacant since Dr. Malinda Golden was appointed Acting Superintendent on January 19, 2024. Morgan will begin his new position on June 1.
