Lexie Newberry joins Leon Heights Elementary as Principal
BELTON, TX — Lexie Newberry is joining Leon Heights Elementary School as the school’s new principal.
Newberry has served as an assistant principal at both High Point Elementary and Tarver Elementary schools, and she led the district’s summer school program as principal for three years. Before stepping into administrative roles, Newberry was a reading interventionist and elementary teacher. She has 18 years of education experience all within BISD.
“Lexie Newberry is fully invested in the continued success of Leon Heights Elementary,” Denise Sharp, BISD executive director of campus leadership for elementary campuses, said. “She will work with students, staff and families to build upon the achievements and traditions of Leon Heights and be a great leader for the campus.”
Newberry earned her bachelor’s and master's degrees from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
She will begin her new role on July 15.
