Tammie Baggerly Appointed as Principal of Delta Program

BELTON, TX — Tammie Baggerly is set to begin the new school year as the principal of the Delta Program, a newly established position in our district that underscores our commitment to innovative and effective educational opportunities for each and every student.

The Delta Program represents a collaborative effort and a shared vision to support 18-21-year-old students' transition to adult independent living and work. Baggerly brings extensive experience and a proven background of educational leadership that aligns perfectly with the goals and aspirations of the Delta Program.

With 16 years in education, Baggerly is well-acquainted with the BISD community, having been with the district for 15 years. Over the past five years, she has served as an assistant principal at Southwest Elementary School and previously as an instructional coach.

"Her dedication to student success and innovative approach to education make her an excellent fit for this pioneering role," said Executive Director of Campus Leadership for Secondary Campuses, Ben Smith. "Baggerly’s expertise and leadership, along with her ability to build strong community partnerships essential to the program, will be invaluable as we launch this new campus aimed at providing our students with the best possible educational experience."

The Delta program, currently located at the Belton High School campus, will move to its new facility at 731 East Fourth Avenue in the spring. This new building is being constructed with funds from the 2022 voter-approved bond.

Baggerly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Educational Administration from Texas A&M University - Central Texas. She officially began her new role on July 17.
