Work on Belton ISD’s strategic plan continues with the formation of Planning Teams that will dive deeper into topics identified from community feedback as key focus areas for the district moving forward.
The district is currently looking for students, staff, parents and community representatives to join one of five Planning Teams that will meet in April and May to develop goals, strategies and action items surrounding its focus area.
“We are looking for people with subject matter expertise and also people with passion for these focus areas,” said Elizabeth Cox, executive director of communications and community engagement. “It’s a big commitment, we know, but it’s significant work that will impact all areas of future planning in Belton ISD.”
The Planning Teams’ focus areas and priorities are:
Engaging All Voices A close-knit community is maintained through strong partnerships and engaging all voices in two-way communication.
Future-Foward Facilities The district’s facilities are community investments that support innovation, exceptional learning, academic skills and Journey of a Graduate competencies.
Exceptional Learning Mastery of knowledge and Journey of a Graduate competencies is valued over grades and testing.
Each and Every Student Inclusion and equitable opportunities for each and every student to pursue the future they want is valued.
Social and Emotional Support Teachers are prepared to support the whole child, both socially and emotionally.
The Planning Teams will collaborate together virtually from 6-8 p.m. on April 21-22, April 28-29 and May 12-13.
“We need people on these teams that represent a variety of perspectives and voices across the Big Red Community,” Cox said.
