District Releases Updates to COVID-19 Response Plan

Big Red Community - Please take a minute to review these updates related to Belton ISD’s COVID-19 Response Plan:

COVID-19 Active Case Dashboard
Beginning today, the COVID-19 active case dashboard will now separate the reporting of probable positive cases and lab-confirmed cases. Both types of positive cases have been reported together since the start of school and on last school year’s dashboard. The updated views are to help families be able to differentiate between the types of cases being reported in the district.

Positive Cases at Home
Students with a positive COVID-19 case reported in their household are now required to quarantine for 10 days unless they are vaccinated and have no symptoms of the illness. This change is an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 at schools and is supported by the Texas Education Agency’s latest guidance.

Campus Prevention & Mitigation Strategies
Belton ISD remains in Scenario 3 of our COVID-19 Response Plan but each of the district’s 19 schools are increasing their prevention and mitigation strategies in the areas of spacing, hygiene and additional staff screening tools to slow the spread. Masks remain a choice but are highly recommended.
