Belton High Student-Athletes Ink Collegiate Letters of Intent

Nine Belton High School seniors signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers last week during a ceremony at the BHS athletic complex.

“Days like today make me very proud to be the athletic director in Belton ISD,” said Sam Skidmore. “I’ve seen these kids work so hard at their sport and in the classroom over the years and today we see the payoff — a commitment to play at the next level. We are so proud of them and are excited to celebrate this well-deserved accomplishment.”

Seniors signing included:

  • Jason Blattner — tennis at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
  • Noah Newman — track and field at Tarleton State University
  • Shannon Cook — cross country at the University of North Texas
  • Zach Dennison — cross country at Stephen F. Austin
  • Anna Beamsderfer — basketball at Howard Payne
  • Ayon York  — football at McPherson College
  • Kage Carmichael  — football at Culver-Stockton College
  • Lily Small  — basketball at Howard Payne
  • Taylor Evans  — football at Culver-Stockton College

Coaches, teammates, family and friends gathered for the milestone event.

“We believe that no matter how far they travel in their lives and what great success they might have, they will always be Belton Tigers,” Skidmore said.
